Here at Boys Town, we have always prided ourselves on preparing kids for a successful life after Boys Town.
As some of you may have read in a recent New York Times article, Boys Town is expanding our Career-Readiness Center class offerings to respond to the changing workplace and a renewed demand for vocational jobs.
We are in the early stages of a $1.5 million remodeling project on our Home Campus that will include a construction shop, welding stations, a small-engine repair shop, a horticulture lab with a greenhouse, kitchens for culinary arts instruction and an automotive repair area. Boys Town currently offers a Health Occupation course.
Boys Town is invested in providing these classes to students because it gives them their best opportunity for success after high school. Next year, we expect as many as 200 of our students to be enrolled in a career-readiness course.
