Do We Get Too Much Pleasure out of Terrifying Our Children? Probably.

Teachable moments can come from a wide variety of sources, including other parents. From time to time parents write blogs for us that we think you will find interesting, useful, or entertaining. Please enjoy this post from a fellow parent.

Social media sites are filled with photos of children hysterically crying on Santa’s lap. That’s what Christmas is all about, right? That awkward wait in line where you over exaggerate the excitement of what’s going to happen. You talk in such a high voice that all the people around with older children look at you like you are insane. Your little one gets excited. As you get closer in line they start to tense up a bit, then their grip on your hand gets incredibly tight, then you have to pry them off your leg and onto a strange old man’s lap. They stop breathing, become hysterical, freak out and you get your photo. Sounds evil? It is.

Despite the evilness of making your children terrified, the moment is brief and the pictures are truly hilarious. Please share yours here or on our Facebook page.
